Gary McPherson II is the Sr. Managing Partner of McPherson Financial Partners (MFP) and MFPRetirement (MFPR), where he brings more than 18 years of industry experience to the clients and organizations he serves. As a financial advisor, Gary believes deeply in a comprehensive approach, one that integrates all aspects of financial planning to help clients make informed decisions, navigate life’s transitions, and move confidently toward long-term financial independence.

Managing retirement plans for businesses and nonprofit organizations is a particular passion for Gary. He views well-designed retirement plans not only as a powerful benefit for organizations, but also as a sustainable revenue for MFP, so he can dedicate the time and personalized attention to individual clients. His philosophy has remained consistent throughout his career: putting the client first, always.

Gary’s process for business clients includes business planning, fiduciary oversight, plan design consulting, investment due diligence, and employee financial education. Gary’s process for individual clients focuses on helping them navigate financial planning complexity, market uncertainty, and retirement income strategies, all with a commitment to clarity and long-term partnership.

Gary began his financial services career in 2002 at an alternative investment group, where he served as assistant fund administrator, managing public and private funds. He later worked with PenFed Credit Union through CUSO Financial Services, assisting a financial advisor in educating military members and veterans on financial security and retirement planning. In 2008, after becoming FINRA registered, Gary assisted a veteran advisor at a large national insurance organization, deepening his expertise in financial planning, investment management, and retirement plan consulting for both for-profit and nonprofit employers. Gary holds bachelor’s degrees from Towson University (Business Management with a minor in Financial Planning) and the University of Pittsburgh (Psychology). His professional work includes co-authoring Remarkable Retirement, Volume 2, contributing insights to Impact Makers Radio, and serving as a board member of the Spirit Club Foundation.

Gary and his wife, Amy, live in Concord, North Carolina, with their two children. They are proud to be active participants in the Cabarrus County community and the local Jewish community.
